Oppo Find X2 Pro – How did this slip through?

Oppo has been known for its mid-range devices for a few years now. The features that their phones offer has been much more than what one would expect. When the company started selling smartphones, it was an instant success for them. They focused on markets such as India and China and gave major companies like Samsung and Apple a run for their money. They did so by providing 4G smartphones at a very cheap price. Their phones were the best in the segment due to the amazing screen, better cameras, and the overall design. Oppo was also the top smartphone brand in China in the year 2019 and is currently the 5th best in the world. The most premium brand, Apple considers Oppo as tough competition. Oppo has been able to offer features like no notch displays and under the glass sensors which Apple still has not.

Recently, Oppo decided to launch its flagship phone the Find X2 Pro which offers top of the line features but for some reason has gone unnoticed. Let’s find out why.

Design Of Oppo X2 Pro-

The phone has a dimension of 165.2 x 74.4 x 8.8 mm with the leatherback model being a tad thicker at 9.4 mm. The phone comes in two options – Ceramic back and Leatherback. The ceramic back is a little heavy weighing about 207 grams while the leatherback weighs about 200g. The frame is made up of aluminum and the front glass is made from the brand new Gorilla Glass 6. The phone also has an IP68 rating and is dust and water-resistant. The phone is dual sim and supports 2 nano sims. All in all, the phone features a build that you would expect from any flagship-level device.

Display Of Oppo X2 Pro-

In terms of display, the X2 Pro has the most advanced display that I have ever seen to this date. The 6.7 inches display comes with a resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels. The display is an AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1.07B colors. It has Gorilla Glass 6 protection and comes loaded with features. The display has a refresh rate of 120 Hz with a 240 Hz touch sensing. This is the best refresh rate available to date. The screen also supports HDR 10. The brightness of the display can go up to 800 nits and has a JNCD color accuracy of 0.8. The display also supports a color gamut of DCI-P3 100% which has been seen in phones like the Galaxy Note 7.

Hardware Of Oppo X2 Pro –

The phone comes with the latest and greatest in terms of hardware. The phone houses the powerful Snapdragon 865 7nm chipset which when paired with the Adreno 650 GPU, produces blazing-fast performance. The advanced octa-core CPU along with the powerful GPU produces amazing results. Gaming and editing seem seamless with such amazingly powerful hardware. The device also has 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of UFS 3.0 internal memory.

Software-wise, the phone ships with Android 10.0 with the company’s in-house ColorOS 7.0. I was never a fan of ColorOS because of the huge amount of bloatware pre-installed on it by the company. This time though things are different. Oppo has filtered out a lot of it giving ColorOS a Stock Android-like experience which is great.

Camera –

The phone has a triple camera setup. The primary lens is a wide lens with a 48 MP shooter and an aperture of f/1.7. It is 25mm wide and has a shutter speed of 1/1.43″,1.12µm. It has omnidirectional PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS. The secondary lens is a Periscope lens with a 13 MP shooter with an aperture of  f/3.0. The lens is a 129mm telephoto lens with a shutter speed of 1/3.4″, 1.0µm. It also has a 5x optical zoom with PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS. The third and the last lens is a 48 MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.2 and is 17mm ultrawide with a shutter speed of 1/2.0″, 0.8µm. It also has autofocus. The camera also has additional features like Dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR and panorama. It is also capable of recording videos up to 2160p@30/60fps and 1080p@30/60fps with gyro-EIS and HDR.

The front or the selfie camera is a 32 MP shooter with an aperture of f/2.4 and a shutter speed of 1/2.8″, 0.8µm. It also supports HDR and is capable of recording at 1080p@30fps.It also supports gyro OIS.

Battery and Sensors and Speaker –

The device has a 4260 mAh non-removable Lithium-Ion battery with 65W fast charging which can charge the device from 0-100% in 38 minutes. Oppo calls this the SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge which can also be found in RealMe phones. In terms of sensors, the phone has all the basic sensors including Fingerprint (under display, optical), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. The phone has stereo speakers but lacks a headphone jack.

My Verdict -

The Oppo Find X2 has all the features one would expect a flagship device to have. The device has very premium looks and has brilliant hardware. It looks like Oppo actually heard their customer’s demands and finally made a phone with all the wanted features. Not only that but Oppo also mended their broken operating system by throwing out a lot of bloatware. I would definitely pick this phone without a doubt.
